Barnardos Post Adoption service is delighted to have designed a 4 session course for Inter-Country adopted adults. Based on our long running course Exploring Adoption, and our once off groups with intercountry adopted adults we aim to explore issues such as:
- how it feels to be adopted
- preparing or managing a search for your birth family
- birth and adoptive family perspectives
- outcomes of search for a birth family
- connection with your birth country and culture
- dealing with other people’s views on adoption
- issues about identity and relationships
Location & Dates:
The first 3 sessions will be delivered online with the last one in person in Dublin to allow participants to get to meet and celebrate the completion of the course:
- Monday 9th September- Online
- Monday 16th September – Online
- Monday 23rd September- Online
- Saturday 5th October – In person in Barnardos, Christchurch Sq, Dublin
The course will be facilitated by Andrew Walker and Hazel Mannion, two experienced members of the Post Adoption Service team.
Places will be capped at 15 and to allow the group to develop trust and facilitate open and respectful discussions, people will not be able to start the course halfway through.
