Event Type

Are you finding that everyday experiences with your child can be challenging or overwhelming? Does your child find transitions, a change of routine, new textures or tastes, or new situations upsetting and difficult to adjust to?
Barnardos Post Adoption team would like to introduce a new programme for adoptive parents to learn strategies to manage their own stress levels. The aim of the programme is to enable parents to provide an enriched environment within the home that facilitates the core components of successful parent child engagement – the capacity to self-regulate and to co-regulate their children.
As a parent, it can be difficult to know how to respond when your child is overwhelmed. This programme draws on principals of sensory attachment intervention (SAI) and aims to support you to find new approaches to self-regulation, so you feel more equipped to support your child through challenging times.

The programme will run over 4 consecutive weeks every Wednesday morning
Dates:
• Wednesday May 7th
• Wednesday May 14th
• Wednesday May 21st
• Wednesday May 28th

Facilitators: Rebecca Murphy & Ruth Farrell
Numbers are limited and early booking is advisable
