Donate Goods

Our shops are currently experiencing some staffing issues. We ask customers and those donating items for their understanding, and thank them for their continued support and patience.

Please ring ahead to your local shop if wishing to make a donation of items.

By donating to our shops, volunteering for as little as four hours per week in one of our shops, or bagging a bargain, you are making an important contribution to our work.

You are helping Barnardos achieve our vision. A vision to ensure all vulnerable children in Ireland get the support they need to overcome childhood adversity

Donating goods to Barnardos charity shops

Every euro spent in a Barnardos shop goes to help vulnerable children in Ireland. Our charity shops rely on the generosity of people like you who donate their second-hand and brand new goods for re-sale.

We welcome:

  • Books
  • Records
  • Jewellery
  • Good quality clothing
  • Men’s, women’s and children’s shoes and clothing
  • Bric-a-brac
  • Handbags and other accessories

You can contribute by either dropping your donated goods directly into one of our shops or by filling one of our Barnardos collection bags and leaving it outside your door for us to collect on the designated day. Please look out for the Irish Charity Shops Association on all our bags. All Barnardos drivers carry Barnardos identification and our collection vans are clearly marked with the Barnardos logo.

Barnardos Charity Shop, Selskar Street in Wexford town is in need of donations.

They are in need of good quality ladieswear, menswear children’s clothing and footwear. Household items such as brick-a-brac and books are welcome too!

Where are Barnardos’ Shops?

We have shops in Dublin (Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Kilbarrack, and Clondalkin); Wexford; Carlow; and Cork.

We regret that we are unable to collect individual items or donations, and under new European legislation there are some items we can no longer sell such as electrical goods, safety equipment and various children’s items and toys.

Volunteering

Our shops rely on the support and enthusiasm of our committed team of volunteers. They ensure that all the goods for sale in our shops are presented in the most attractive way. They offer advice for shoppers, a friendly welcome and help the shops run smoothly.
