Description of Service:

• Barnardos are Ireland’s largest children’s charity working with children and families throughout Ireland. Barnardos Charity Shops raise vital funds for Barnardos Services.

Location:

• Location: Kilbarrack, Dalkey, Dún Laoghaire, Clondalkin, Cork, Carlow, and Wexford

Outline of Volunteers Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the Barnardos Shops Development Team
• Identifying ideal product
• Preparing for fashion events and Pop Up shops
• Preparing stock for delivery to Barnardos charity shops
• Liaising with shop managers and delivery personnel
• Retail work as a shop assistant working on shop floor and at till
• Steaming clothes, pricing and tagging
• Sorting through donations
• Cleaning
• Customer relations

Training and Support Plan:

• On site training provided to include health and safety procedures, stock preparation, general warehouse duties
• Formal organisational training provided as necessary
• Supervised by and reports to Bernadette Harrington, Brand New Manager

Time Commitment:

• Monday to Saturday
• Morning and afternoon shifts available
• Roster worked out with manager
• Minimum commitment of 6 months

Person Specification:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Honest, reliable and flexible
• Interest or experience in retail
