We know that parents can be overwhelmed about where to start to keep their children safe online. Here you will find information and support to guide you as well as the next available public webinar that you could attend to upskill yourself.

Parent Webinars

Our Barnardos trainers deliver live webinars to parents about online safety with a short Q&A after. These 45 minute webinars are free to register. There are generally two webinars a month.

Webinar Outcomes

  • Outline the key risks for children with being online
  • Implement practical solutions and tips to help their children stay safe online
  • Reflect on how they might
    help their children if they were cyberbullied/cyberbullying
  • Recognise ways to interact with their child’s online world and day to day experiences
  • Identify helpful websites and research and signpost them to others
  • Once you book your place, you will receive a link to the webinar. You’ll also be reminded a day before the webinar too.

With support from Google.org, we developed 3 short videos to help parents who are worried about increased screentime for their children.

Online Safety Programme - Full edition

Many of the videos signpost to Be Internet Legends, an interactive game about online safety for children aged 7-11 that allows them to explore different lands and learn about cyberbullying, scams and how not to over share personal information. There is also information about Family Link, a form of parental controls, this app allows parents to monitor how long their child is online for and keep track of what they are downloading.
