Work with Children

Work with Children

Barnardos work with children from 0-18 years of age in a variety of different ways. How we work depends on the individual child’s age and stage of development. Our work supports children to achieve their milestones and develop resilience to help them overcome any challenges they may face.

Individual Work

Barnardos works one-to-one with children between 6 and 18 years of age. We work with children who have experienced or are experiencing adversity and need support to address their needs.

Group Work

We provide group work programmes to children in a variety of settings like our projects, schools and community services.

Early Years Service

Barnardos has seven Early Years Services across Ireland who work with children from 2 to five years of age.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention is about intervening early in the life of the child or the cycle of the challenge
