Barnardos is pleased to announce the appointment of Tanya Ward as its next Chief Executive. Tanya brings extensive expertise in the areas of child protection and children’s rights. Tanya joins Barnardos from the Children’s Rights Alliance where, as Chief Executive, she is a leading advocate for children in Ireland.
Barnardos Chairperson Paul O’Faherty said: “Many of you will know Tanya as a strong and dedicated advocate for the needs of children through her leadership in the Children’s Rights Alliance. We are confident that her energy, vision and experience will bring strong leadership to Barnardos as she works closely with the staff and the Board”.
Tanya will officially take up the role of Barnardos CEO in late January 2027. In the meantime, Philip Watt will continue as Interim CEO.
